President
AUTO SUCCESSION
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Election: Automatically assumes role after serving as President-Elect
Requirements: National ATD membership (unless Board waives)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Presides at all Chapter and Board meetings
  • Represents Chapter at official functions
  • Directs administration of Chapter business
  • Serves as ex-officio member of all committees
  • May create special task forces with Board approval
  • Schedules monthly Board meetings per CORE requirements
President-Elect
ELECTED
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Succession: Becomes President the following year
Requirements: National ATD membership (unless Board waives)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts on behalf of President in their absence
  • Responsible for leadership continuity planning
  • Manages transition and succession planning
  • Oversees leadership development initiatives
  • Documents and maintains Chapter records
  • Maintains meeting minutes and correspondence
  • Oversees Newsletter Editor and communications methods
Immediate Past President
ADVISORY
Term: 1 year (automatically follows President term
Selections: Automatic - previous year's President
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as Senior Advisor to President and Board
  • Provides counsel and support to Leadership Team
  • Ensures continuity of leadership
  • Provides historical perspective for decision-making
  • Advises on present developments as they relate to past activities
  • Performs special assignments for President/Leadership Team
  • Supports President-Elect in leadership development

Director of Finance
ELECTED
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Requirements: National ATD membership (unless Board waives)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Documents, reports, and maintains Chapter financial records
  • Disburses funds in accordance with Board-approved budget
  • Coordinates fund disbursement with President
  • Prepares financial reports for Board review
  • Coordinates annual fiscal audit by qualified external accountant
  • Prepares year-end financial report (income, expenses, assets, liabilities)
  • May appoint committee as necessary to fulfill responsibilities
Director of Membership
ELECTED
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Requirements: National ATD membership (unless Board waives)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Member recruitment and retention initiatives
  • New member welcome and orientation
  • Enhance individual member relationships with organization
  • Operates within Board-approved budgetary guidelines
  • May appoint committee as necessary
Directors of Programs
ELECTED
Positions: 2 Directors (partnership role)
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Requirements: National ATD membership (unless Board waives)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner to plan monthly chapter meetings and speakers
  • Coordinate and supervise monthly programs
  • Evaluate program effectiveness
  • Operates within Board-approved budgetary guidelines
  • May appoint committee as necessary

Director of Marketing
APPOINTED
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Selection: Appointed by Board upon Nominating Committee recommendation
Key Responsibilities:
  • Markets Chapter to customers and community
  • Generates advertising income from vendors
  • Markets vendor products/services through Chapter channels
  • Operates within Board-approved budgetary guidelines
  • May appoint committee as necessary
Director of Communications
APPOINTED
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Selection: Appointed by Board upon Nominating Committee recommendation
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes Chapter's communication technology needs
  • Supervises and directs Chapter website maintenance
  • Manages website editing and improvements
  • Recommends information technology changes to Board

Director of Special Events
APPOINTED
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Selection: Appointed by Board upon Nominating Committee recommendation
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plans Chapter-sponsored special events
  • Coordinates workshops and seminars (separate from monthly meetings)
  • Supervises and evaluates special events
  • Operates within Board-approved budgetary guidelines
  • May appoint committee as necessary
Director of Strategic Partnership
APPOINTED
Term: 1 year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
Term Limits: 2 consecutive terms maximum
Selection: Appointed by Board upon Nominating Committee recommendation
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain relationships with business partners
  • Develop strategies to increase Chapter revenue
  • Implement partnership strategy to expand Chapter impact
  • Manage ongoing partner relationships and leverage opportunities
  • Identify and develop new strategic initiatives with other organizations

Important Election & Term Information

Election Timeline: Slate presented no later than November meeting; elections held by end of November; results announced at December meeting; new officers assume duties January 1.

Elected Positions (4): President-Elect, Directors of Programs (2), Director of Finance, Director of Membership

Appointed Positions (3): Director of Special Events, Director of Marketing, Director of Communications (appointed by Board upon Nominating Committee recommendations)

National ATD Membership: Required for all elected offices unless Board grants waiver (Article IV, Section 2)

Term Limits: Officers may serve maximum of 2 consecutive terms in same office (completing another officer's unexpired term doesn't count toward limit)

Succession: If President position becomes vacant, President-Elect assumes duties for remainder of term AND the following year
